Another iPhone App Bites the Dust - Google Voice Infact

Apple have played yet another joker card in the ongoing app store debacle - they have rejected the Google Voice App. A publication on TechCrunch quotes a Google Spokesperson stating the app, which was submitted 6 weeks ago, was rejected by Apple. There is no word on why, but there are rumours AT&T have had an influence on the decision.

Think about it, if Google Voice was accepted and published as an application on the store, people could use their Voice Number and pay for SMS and MMS via Google rather than AT&T thus bypassing their charges. If AT&T do have a strong influence on app submissions, it’s possible this one was knocked off the chart due to this reason.
Now, there is another twist to the story - Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt is one of Apple’s Directors which would suggest he has certain perks and knows who to speak to should he want to side for or against an app but it doesn’t seem so, either that or it’s some kind of double bluff. Either way, us - the end users are the ones who miss out. Apple aren’t doing their ‘valued customers’ any favours by declining apps that we want to see…especially without a valid reason and yes, as usual, they’re keeping everything quiet.
