iPhone users are a special breed. Why you may ask? The answer is Apple is always giving their customers more in the way of things they want meaning more apps for their iPhone and iTouch. Apps are just a part of our lives today at least if we own an iPhone. This Apple commercial is great. It gives us a special treat for all 12 days of Christmas, just as the song implies.

I can understand most of the apps such as cookie recipes, the Christmas cards to send, the gifts to buy for family and friends, songs for singing, bells for ringing, ski slopes, games, 5 gold rings, hot lattes, airline flights home, and the two feet of snow. The last app on the other hand was truly amazing; it is an app that can light up the Christmas tree. I thought they were playing a joke, so I did some research and yes, there is even an app to light up the tree. It is called Schlage Link and can be downloaded free in the app store.

The app can actually control various Schlage gadgets including the light module, home video cameras, and entry door locks. I guess when you hear there is an app for that you had better believe it.

It seems like I am not the only one that was curious about the last app in the commercial. It seems that you have found everything I saw about it already.

Here is what the company said about LiNK:

"LiNK is a home-management solution that allows homeowners to monitor and control features of their home through any computer and most Web-enabled mobile phones. It's built on Z-Wave technology."

You can read more about it here: http://link.schlage.com

I also found a bit more about the App with the Schlage pieces here: http://link.schlage.com/remote_management/Pages...

Feel free to email me if you have any questions about it.
