Download: blacksn0w to unlock iPhone 3G / 3GS firmware 3.1.2

In order to unlock the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS 3.1.2, you will need to use a free iPhone hack called blacksn0w.

NOTE: This unlock hack is only meant for iPhone 3G / 3GS owners.

How can you download blacksn0w?

- Make sure you’re running firmware v3.1.2, if not, upgrade to it.
- You need to first jailbreak your iPhone. The easiest tool to do this at the moment is blackra1n. Download and use it.

After this, there’s two ways to download and install blacksn0w:

A (easiest): launch the blackra1n app (if you have it installed on your iPhone), from it select to install “sn0w”. You’re now done!

B (longer): if you don’t have blackra1n installed on your iPhone, launch Cydia. Then:
1) Go to: Manage -> Sources

2) Add as a new source: blackra1n.com
3) Go to the search facility, locate and download blacksn0w.

Once blacksn0w is installed you are ready to unlock your iPhone 3G / 3GS running OS 3.1.2. Just launch the app from your springboard and you’re good to go.

Please once again note that this program is only meant for iPhone 3G / 3GS owners. The owners of iPhone 2G should use BootNeuter to unlock their devices.
