Microvision is displaying a mini projector at CES for iPhones and iPods with a launch date for the United Kingdom sometime this year.
The mini-projector, ShowWX is the first laser pico projector with technology that provides a different viewing experience as described by Microvision representatives.
A spokesperson at the CES released a press preview event on Tuesday night and explained that by using lasers for the source of the light Microvision can guarantee better focus and more brilliant colors than other technologies.
The ShowWX is a bit larger than the iPhone and was especially designed for those that want to view content that is on their iPhone or iPod on a larger screen when traveling. One idea is to show photos from the iPhone to their friends and family.
The mini projector is capable of projecting a widescreen DVD quality image on any surface. The image sizes can reach 100 inches in dark rooms.
Microvision, a United States company, launched the ShowWX in Spain where you can purchase it for $500 (£315). Hopes are to release the ShowWX in March to the United States and later this year upon finding a distributor releasing in the United Kingdom.
