Trucking Industry gets their own iPhone App

January 29, 2010 by Anita

PCS software released a new iPhone app, the iLoadFinder specifically with the trucking industry in mind. This app is truly a one-of-a-kind app.

The app provides hundreds of Load Boards drivers can choose from when they search for freight to haul. The problem is that most of the Load Boards do not have mobile versions of their websites available for truckers. In addition, not even one integrates with the Apple iPhone until today.

The iLoadFinder reads the location of the iPhone’s GPS and then retrieves loads that are available within a specific radius of the iPhone. Truck drivers can choose the radius to search, the distance they want the load to travel, and even by origin and destination city, state, and shipper. When the driver finds a load, they can touch the screen to email or telephone the shipper. There are literally thousands of loads posted every day and updates are made every five minutes to ensure that all data is up to date.

This is the first time I’ve seen this as a iPhone app but a company called SecondVoice has been doing this successfully using any cell phone for a while.
