March 19, 2010 by Anita
Remember the 70’s? Remember the song The Bump by Kenny?
“Come on everybody do the Bump!
Knick-knack paddy wack now, you’re standing back to back
Knick knock on the door, bump your baby a little more.
Knick-knock feelin’ fine, do the bump just one more time”
PayPal has created a new app for the iPhone that will allow you to do the bump again and this time “the bump” will be between iPhone’s that wish to share the check.

PayPal an eBay company, allows registered users to send and receive money over the internet safely. Along with their debit card, you can spend the money you have in your account all over town. PayPal was established in 1998 purchased eBay in 2002 and at this time has 78 million active accounts in nineteen currencies.
Now, you can use your iPhone and not only pay your restaurant bill, pay for theater tickets, or pay to go on a group cruise. Now with this new app, you and a friend can bump iPhone’s and the check will be split automatically including tips and taxes.
The PayPal app allows you to transfer money with a little bump. The new app uses the technology created by Bump Technologies that created a way for users to share contact information by touching or bumping the iPhone’s. This unique app uses the sensors inside the iPhone to feel the bump at which time the information is exchanged instantaneously and secure.
The feature called the “Split Check” will factor in the tax and tip, before dividing the check, and paying each other for the cost of a meal for up to twenty individuals.
Osama Bedier, vice president of PayPal stated, “Today, you leave the house with three critical things: your phone, your wallet and your keys,” and went on to say, . “PayPal Send Money lets consumers access their wallets through their phones. Because with PayPal, the wallet lives in the cloud – the mobile phone is just one device customers can use to access it.”
You can get the free download in the Apple App Store.
