iTouch multitasking officially announced in iPhone OS 4.0

Today at the special iPhone OS 4.0 launch event Apple announced multitasking support for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

It will be available for everyone as soon as iPhone OS 4.0 is released to the public.
