Download: Ultrasn0w v1.0-1 to unlock iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G on iOS 4.0 / 4.01 (+ how-to tutorial)

In case you’d like to unlock your iPhone running firmware (iOS) 4.0 or 4.01 to work with any carrier, then Ultrasn0w is the unlock tool you need to download and install.

Its latest version, Ultrasn0w v1.0-1 allows you to unlock the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3 running iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.01. Version 1.0-1 of ultrasn0w works for:

* iPhone4 baseband 01.59
* 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04

NOTE THAT THIS VERSION OF ULTRASN0W STILL DOES NOT SUPPORT IOS 4.02/4.1, so do not upgrade to it if you want to keep your unlock!

How to download and use Ultrasn0w v1.0-1?

#1 – You need to jailbreak your iPhone using either JailBreakMe or Pwnage Tool (VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE ANY JAILBREAK TOOLS OTHER THAN JAILBREAKME OR PWNAGE!!!). This will also install Cydia app on your iPhone.
#2 – Once the previous step is done, load the Cydia app from your springboard.
#3 – Go to “search” and look for “ultrasn0w”. (If ultrasn0w doesn’t show when you search Cydia, add the repo: repo666.ultrasn0w.com). Once located, simply install Ultrasn0w and reboot your iPhone.

If everything went right, no further steps should be needed – once Ultrasn0w is installed it should do its work in the background and you should now be able to use a SIM card from any carrier.

Note that Ultrasn0w won’t create an icon on your springboard, but you can check if it’s installed or not via Cydia.
