If we are to believe the latest rumour, iOS 4.2 was delayed by Apple until November 24, 2010.
However this rumour comes from a pretty reliable source: UK’s The Telegraph, who are quoting their own unnamed reliable source.
Apparently the reason for this delay are recently discovered WiFi issues that the iPad has with iOS 4.2 – this is indirectly confirmed by the fact that Apple released a new iOS 4.2 “gold master” firmware build only for the iPad last week fixing this issue, while no updated iOS 4.2 gold master build was released for the iPhone / iTouch.
Apart of that, iOS 4.2 and 24th of November are the same numbers written in reverse, and Apple has a knack for using memorable dates this way.
We’ll certainly keep you posted on new developments.
UPDATE: nope, iOS 4.2 won’t come out. Ever. Apple just released iOS 4.2.1 gold master!
