How to restore a bricked baseband 6.15.00 iPhone 3Gs/3G to iOS 4.1 and unlock with ultrasn0w [VIDEO GUIDE]

What happens if you’ve bricked your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3Gs and it now gives you an error of sorts?

The good news are that if you have a bricked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3Gs you can successfully restore it in most cases, with iOS 4.1 and baseband 6.15.00. Bad news are that it’s not 100% guaranteed to work.

What you will need for this guide is:

- iOS firmware 4.1 for your device.
- Limera1n RC1b
- You might also need iReb if you’re still having a 1015 Error.

hey Daniel I was fortunate enough to not have any problem with the original unlock procedure so now I have ios 4.1 bb 6.15 and after using redsnow 6b6 and SAM I am able to conditionally control my battery drain. I still have no GPS and was contemplating another restore, having seen your video gave me hope that if I stuffed up I would be able to recover the situation.
Having seen you restore your phone I was curious to know if you still have a GPS function or have you ever had a problem since the 6.15 upgrade. Thanks Peter

Hi Mate! I have iphone 3GS new bootrom.I’ve tried all above steps but then i get error 28.Also my iphone has white screen only when i try to resotre and then becomes black again (DFU). tried almost everything.. even tried to bug Musclnerd in twitter as well. Any help would be appreciated.

hey man, i have a 3gs 4.1. after i tried to jailbreak using redsn0w, my phone is bricked, and it wont start after i charge it, it only shows the apple logo, and after awhile it will shows the charging sign again. what should i do?

so my iphone was jailbroken and unlocked and as i was in cydia it sent me into safemode
now my iphone is stuck at recovery and theres nothing i can do, i tried this but still it brings up an error message

Hi I spent the whole day in trying to get rid of the recovery mode, downloaded more than 50 softwares to force it out of it and tried to restore it more than 20 times but when i was about to throw my ip 3g on the ground i watched this video and tried it your way for the last time and it was bingooo…thx for uploading this video….it was really helpfull thx again…u saved my ip….

Hi I have an Iphone 3g with 4.2.1 and baseband 6.15
I have tried Pwange 4.1.3 and then Ultrasn0w 1.2 to unlock.

problem i have is that i cannot get calls to work and no text either with Tmobile.

3g and edge data coverage is working fine.
I have tried restoring and using redsn0w but same problems.

Sim card works fine in other iphone so I am thinking its a problem with the 6.15 baseband. I have also retried just installing the baseband again but still have the same problem.

Any ideas??

I have iPhone 3 G, 16 GB with iPad base band running iOS 4.2.1. I installed whited00r Full 4.2 few days ago. I was happy to use multi-tasking, battery percentage etc. And I found I had many apps running only on iOS 4.0 and later. So I decided to restore to iOS 4.2.1. I pressed Shift + Restore in iTunes, selected the .ipsw file, then it says “can not restore this device, error 1015″. I tried nights and days to solve this problem using redsn0w, sn0wbreeze, ZiPhone etc. and even tried to restore using iPhone1,2_whited00r42FN.ipsw, but no results. I tried restoring online, still no result. Help me to solve this problem.

Guys if you face the 1015 error just close the itunes after getting the error and open the tinyumbrella application and click Exit Recovery (you can download tinyumbrella from the following link:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/b5433a1/n/tinyumbrella-4.21.05.exe

Then the you can connect again to itunes and activate your phone, this worked for me.

Try this it worked for my 3G 8GB – you have to restore to 4.1 and not 4.2.
you can get the 4.1 from

hey man, i did the redsn0w jailbreak and it wasnt un tethered, i had to boot thethered now after it went back into dfu, it was fine for about 3 mins, then it shut off and now it completely stuck in dfu, wont boot tethered and wont restore, keep getting error 1600 even if i use ireb, any help would be great thanks,3gs new BR4.3.3 bb 6.15

I tried your unfreezing my bricked iphone3gs that hasn’t been jailbroken and got a (3194) error msg. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I was able to put it into dfu mode and iTunes recognized the device.

Man ive tried everything almost nothing working to jail break iphone 3g after restoring in 4.2.1 error 1015. when i first jailbreaked the phone i couldn’t recieve a wifi connection! so did as advised jail break select iPad after that went to unlock still no wifi? Now i’m stuck when i try restore with 1015 error tried to restore in itunes 4.1 no still stuck with error tryied iREB no sir iphone hates me
