iPhone / iTouch iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak – almost here! [VIDEO]
December 8, 2010 by James
As you might recall the currently available redsn0w jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 is a tethered one, meaning that it requires you to re-activate your iPhone / iPad / iTouch through your computer when you reboot it if you choose to use Cydia or other unauthorized third party apps (such as the ultrasn0w unlock).
Thankfully there’s now a new update on the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak for iPhone we’ve reported on earlier.
Now the iOS hackers from the iPhone Dev Team have posted a new video, showing a working untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. They’re still perfecting the method to make it work for all devices, so the tool to do that is not available yet. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a new pwnage tool / redsn0w release this weekend.
Check out an untethered jailbreaked iOS 4.2.1 iPod Touch 4G below, courtesy of the wonderful folks from the iPhone Dev Team.
