There’s some great news from the developer of TinyUmbrella, that super useful program for Windows / Mac / Linux computers that is invaluable to iPhone jailbreakers and unlockers.
In a recent update on his site Semaphore, the author of TinyUmbrella wrote:
“I’ve been working on a new and improved version of TinyUmbrella that will, among other things, allow you to restore your iDevice without iTunes. With the holiday season and work, this will take me a bit to get working the way I want it. I appreciate your patience and your support. You guys are awesome
No ETAs yet but I’ll post updates here and on twitter.”

That’s certainly great news, which means that the upcoming TinyUmbrella version might help those iPhone owners who have upgraded to a recent iOS firmware with 06.15 baseband and are having problems with iTunes restore function after unlocking their device.
We’ll keep you posted on further updates!
